The End of My Faith in the Bull

eToro

When I worked in a brokerage firm in the 80s I often ate lunch at the original charging bull.  This is a photoshop.

I drew a lot of personal inspiration from that original charging bull that reflected and reinforced my belief in our financial markets.   The sculpture by Arturo Di Modica has since become a popular tourist destination, which draws thousands of people a day.  It is an icon of New York's leadership in the financial world that has appeared in television reports as an image punctuating stories about optimism in the financial market.

Since then I've lived through Long Term Capital Management, Enron, Worldcom, Dot Bombs, 9/11, Madoff, the Housing Bubble, the bailout, followed by more bailouts and bailout fatigue, that will ultimately lead to the financial collapse of the U. S. Dollar.  The debt crisis is a coming problem that can only be solved through massive devalation against other currencies, but also precious metals that are reasserting their ago of role of highest yieldiing currency in an inflationary environment.

These days, I have come to an end of my faith in the bull and dollar. In addition to some physical gold and silver in  hand, I also like the tremendous operating leverage possible in junior mining companies.

Technical analysis training advertised here can teach you the signals for profitable trades -- regardless of overall market direction.  The cycle of exploration, discovery, resource definition, development and depletion must be understood to maximize returns on mining stocks.

Fundamental analysis remains the key to many of the biggest opportunties and the high hopes for new industries to improve lives while creating decent jobs.  Look around at the large number of battery-operated personal electronic devices you have in your home that didn't exist a few years ago -- iPods, cellphones, Bluetooth headsets, laptops, portable gaming systems, cameras and video cameras -- many of these devices use lithium batteries.   All of these batteries combined are a fraction of the size and cost of batteries to power a new generation of cars.   Governments worldwide are encouraging and providing subsidies to increase use of electric automobiles.   Manufacturers are scrambling to secure reliable sources of lithium for the production of batteries that may cost as much as $12,000 each!    The result is a "new gold rush" that I call LithiumRush.

Many of the exciting opportunities that I do see today are small companies trading on the Toronto Venture Exchange that provides a very cost effective trading location for micro sized companies.

In my mind, the Bull is no longer standing in Bowling Green park near Wall Street.  We can ride the Bear but we must go elsewhere for the most honest and best opportunities in my view.
